Octa Capital Partners (“Octa”) is a real estate investment management platform focused on value-add and opportunistic investing. Our lead investors comprise of ultra-high net worth family offices and institutional investors.

We embark on investing activities from our head office in Hong Kong and have gross assets under management of US$500 million.

We have also advised on real estate M&A transactions valued at US$1.1 billion.

ABOUT US

Octa was established in 2014 by two senior members of the Wachovia Asia real estate principal investing platform which was later merged into Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.

During their tenure at Wells Fargo and in the aftermath of the 2008 global financial crisis, the Principals played key roles in the restructuring, value maximization and divestment of an approx. US$2.0 billion real estate portfolio consisting of equity and debt investments in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.

The Principals have amassed significant experience in deal sourcing, structuring, execution, asset management and disposition.

PARTNERS

Brian Swing has 20 years of experience in various disciplines of real estate. Prior to the formation of Octa, Brian held the position of Senior Associate Director at Shun Tak Holdings limited where he was responsible for the real estate transactions in both Hong Kong and China. Brian also served as a Director at Wells Fargo Bank N.A., where he was responsible for the Bank’s real estate principal investment activities in Greater China.

Brian completed his bachelor’s degree at the University of British Columbia and holds the CFA Charter designation.

Edward Choy has 18 years of experience in real estate investment management. Prior to the formation of Octa, Edward served as an Executive Director at Noah Wealth Management in Shanghai where he focused on originating and structuring PRC real estate equity and debt investments. Prior to his relocation to China, Edward served as a Director at Wells Fargo Bank N.A., where he was involved in the execution, management and disposition of the Bank’s real estate principal investments in South East Asia and China. Prior to Wells Fargo, Edward also had stints as an Associate in Merrill Lynch Global Commercial Real Estate in Hong Kong and as an Investment Manager in Pramerica Real Estate Investors in Singapore.

Edward has a Master’s in Construction Management and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.

OUR STRATEGY

We receive access to proprietary investment opportunities and market intelligence from established relationships forged over many years with key industry players in our primary markets.

All of our investments to-date have been in Greater China hard assets in the core plus/value add  spectrum of the risk/return curve.

Moving forward, we will continue to pursue opportunities in our core market and to further diversify into other geographies.

Apart from hard assets, we will consider alternative investing strategies such as positions in operating companies/platforms pursuing real-estate related themes.
